Baraka Aquarium is located in Nungwi, within walking distance of the Nungwi fish market. The Aquarium is open daily from 8:00 am to 6:45 pm. Usually, We would prefer not to go too early or too late, but also avoid the busy time that is from 1 to 3 pm. It’s much better if you go between 10 am and 1 pm. This ensures the best quality of your turtle visit.

In the north of Zanzibar, you can find one of the natural lagoon full of sea turtles. In Baraka Aquarium they are buying the turtles, caught by fishermen and they are releasing them back into the fresh ocean water in the lagoon. Use the unique opportunity to swim with sea turtles. During the visit you can also feed turtles with seaweed or just spend your time in the water. Also, you can take a snorkeling mask to dive and watch them in their natural environment.
